Bellota Wins Award for Sugar Cane Blade, Earns Distinction from Deere

Bellota Agrisolutions has been awarded the 13th Edition of the VisaoAgro Prize as Number 1 in Brazil, in 2015 in the Category Blades for Sugarcane Cutters.

The aim of the VisaoAgro Prizes is to highlight outstanding companies in the field of transforming and producing sugarcane in Brazil.

Approximately 70% of the world’s sugar comes from sugarcane and the rest from sugar beet. Apart from producing sugar in Brazil, 55% of the crop is used to produce bio-ethanol. Almost half the world’s sugarcane production comes from Brazil, followed by India, China, Thailand and Pakistan, which grow more than one million hectares of this crop.

Since 2010, Bellota Agrisolutions has been manufacturing blades, which are the basis of all types of sugarcane cutters, at its Indaial plant in Brazil, employing various types of steel and heat treatments in order to adapt them to each soil type and thus achieve long-lasting parts.

It also manufactures pick blades and extractor spades that are adaptable to the main makes of harvesters used in the country, such as John Deere and Case. Both primary and secondary blades are produced employing special steel and heat treatment called inPHInium, which means they last 70% longer than those of the competition.

In another bit of good news, Bellota  qualified for the fifth consecutive year as a Partner supplier to John Deere. This annual distinction is based on the quality of the product, service, commercial care, technical support and cost management.
