L.F. Trottier & Sons, a Deere dealership with stores in South Royalton and Heartland, Vt., will sell the family-owned business to a Texas-based distributor of Deere equipment. The family did not want to identify the buyer pending the close of the sale, which is scheduled for March 31.

Larry Trottier, 75, said the sale is motivated by his desire to slow down, as well as Deere鈥檚 increasing move toward large regional dealerships as the number of small, independent dealerships shrinks nationwide.
