If planted, the seeds pose a risk to crops and livestock.

Packages typically contain a label that claims a small toy is inside. When recipients open the package, they see a clear bag with seeds in it and instructions on how to plant them. The note says the seeds are petunias.

A spokesperson for the Missouri Department of Agriculture said recipients should not open the package and should not plant the seeds. The spokesperson said the seeds颅鈥攊n a worst-case scenario鈥攃ould cripple the state鈥檚 agriculture economy.

Anyone who has received the package is asked to keep it sealed and notify their state department of agriculture.
