For four generations, Edney Distributing has been part of the agricultural equipment industry and the communities surrounding its dealerships. As the company celebrates 75 years in business, President and CEO Jennifer Edney is choosing to recognize that milestone by giving back.

The initiative is especially meaningful to Edney because of the loss of her grandfather, Milton Edney, to cancer in 2007.

鈥淢ilton Edney was an exceptional human being,鈥� Jennifer shared. 鈥淗e loved his family, his many friends, our industry, and he served his community with his whole heart.鈥�

In his honor, Edney Distributing is partnering with the American Cancer Society to help provide lodging and transportation for cancer patients who must travel for treatment.

For families in rural communities, accessing specialized cancer care can mean significant travel and additional expenses. Edney says that is what makes the initiative particularly personal.

鈥淩ural families shouldn’t have to choose between treatment and the cost of getting to it,鈥� she said. 鈥淭hat’s the piece of this that’s closest to my heart, because those are the communities our dealers and their customers live in.鈥�

Edney Distributing has committed $7,500 to launch the initiative and hopes to double that contribution through additional support from others who would like to participate.

The effort reflects a broader commitment to the communities that have supported Edney Distributing throughout its 75-year history鈥攁nd demonstrates how agricultural businesses can use important company milestones to make a meaningful difference beyond their own operations.
